Black Garlic Ketchup picks up fifth award at Cumbria Life Food and Drink Awards
Their Black Garlic Ketchup has been awarded with the ‘Best New Product’ category.
The awards took place at Kendal College and were hosted by food critic and writer Jay Rayner, he said ‘Events like these awards are brilliant for the local community, chefs, restaurateurs and food producers because they shine a spotlight on what’s really brilliant’.
Black Garlic Ketchup has been a huge hit since it was launched back in April 2017, already having won a Great Taste Award, Condiment of the Year with the Great British Food Magazine, reached the final of the Grocer New Product of the Year Awards and won the best condiment category at the World Food Innovation awards. The Company devised the product which uses whole Garlic Bulbs which have been cooked slowly for up to 50 days until they are black, rich and sweet, to create a ketchup that can be used both as a condiment and as an ingredient.
Mark Whitehead MBE, MD who devised the recipe said “The awards were an amazing night and to have won the Best New Product category amongst some of the best food producers in the County was just fantastic.”
